Following a stint at age 20 as an on-air DJ for Top-40 radio, Allison continued her work in the music industry as a production assistant for the California Music Awards.
In 2007, Allison worked with numerous music venues in and around Austin, Texas, including Stubbs and the Continental Club. While in Austin she assisted with the production of Austin City Limits Music Festival, Jazzfest, Bonnaroo, Old Settlers Music Festival and South by Southwest.
After first premiering Modulation in 2008 in Bend, Oregon, Allison served as Jefferson Public Radio’s (NPR) Rhythm & News Music Director. In December of 2017, Allison announced the show would be ending at the end of the year after over 400 airings on JPR alone. Her playlists can now be found on Spotify (modulationallison). Modulation’s syndicated programming was broadcast on stations in California, Oregon, Montana and Idaho.
When not looking for new music, Allison is running her company, gardening and playing outside with her husband, daughter, and black lab.
“My taste has always reflected the ever-evolving sounds of eclectic music and emerging artists yet I still go back to my early 20’s foundation as a champion of down-tempo and electronic music. Sharing all of these sounds- this is what brings me joy.”
Miss you already! Thanks for all the great shows on JPR. My favorite weekend program!
Enjoy life : )
Ally, you still around?
I’m here! Where are you, Marc?
