If you watched Portlandia, the new show on the IFC you may have noticed the theme song at the beginning of the show. It stars Fred Armisen (SNL) and Carrie Brownstein (Sleater-Kinney). Here’s the track, which I dug immediately. “Feel It All Around” by Washed Out.
I played this song over and over and over in 2008, 2009, 2010 and still am right now. This album was my absolute favorite of 2008. I can’t get enough. Ever!
Midlake is a band I’ve loved for a while now. When this track first came out I absolutely loved it. But the remix- even better!
In 2001 I stumbled upon Michael Franti. In fact, this exact track was the first I’d heard of him. To this day, it’s still my favorite.
Anything on this album featuring Bajka is good.
Fran Healy, lead singer of the band Travis, had me hooked when I first heard this track last summer.
Made me move. Nuff said.
Jose Gonzales has been on my ipod for YEARS. His band is something entirely different yet you can still revel in the best Jose brings to his music. Only here, it’s amplified.
